I remember Aunt Ruth so very well. Uncle Owen and Aunt Ruth would regularly visit with my parents, sharing stories of childhood, playing cards, telling jokes, laughing. Aunt Ruth's coffee cake was the very best! She was a very gracious lady and a wonderful hostess. Our two families alternated having Thanksgiving dinner at each other's houses. Of course, I remember that we "always" had snow and went sled-riding while the men watched football and the women worked in the kitchen. Times have changed, but it did seem to be a happy time then. - Pat Kelm
