Sitting Rock
Named for the
great granite boulder we unearthed on our land.
The place we explore our passions and continue to bring our visions to life.
In the summer of 1991, our family was living in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Comfortable home, great community. We expected to retire there. Then we spent a getaway weekend at a little cottage on a lake outside of Rhinelander. We were hooked. We returned to Eau Claire determined to find a way make our home on the water.
Together, we painted a vision of the home we wanted -- north shore of a small lake, woods, friendly neighbors, sunny land for gardening, a ten-minute drive to work -- and then we poured our belief and hopes into the vision. Four months later Paul had his new job, and by January of 1992, the rest of the family had joined him.
